| Thanks, but for the moment, I'm just rediscovering what others
| already know (eg. I see from comments in prep-bindist-mingw that

The thing is that "others" may know, but their hard-won knowledge is not
reflected in the building guide, and hence gets repeatedly
re-discovered. Google is good, but when knowledge can be written down
in the first place you'd look, that's even better.

| As far as I'm able to make any suggestions for improvements, I'd
| prefer someone to check them (instead of me committing and others
| having to clean up!-)

That would obviously be great. But in a world of limited bandwidth,
it's quite possible that people will see your messages go by, perhaps
comment, but not take action. So your committing
possibly-not-quite-right improvements might be the lesser evil.

Anyway, it's great that your feedback is ending up in the mail archives,
regardless. Thanks

Simon
