Hi! Thanks for showing me around! Much Appreciated!
I got 6.6.1 version going for suse linux enterprise server 9 32-bit platform. When I tried the same version for suse linux enterprise server 9 64-bit, I got the libreadline.so.5 shared lib not found error. I do have readline ver. 5 installed and I set my LD_LIBRARY_PATH to that lib area, no luck. admhost> which ghc /tmp/ghc-6.6.1_v1/bin/ghc admhost> ghci /tmp/ghc-6.6.1_v1/lib/ghc-6.6.1/ghc-6.6.1: error while loading shared libraries: libreadline.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory admhost> ghc /tmp/ghc-6.6.1_v1/lib/ghc-6.6.1/ghc-6.6.1: error while loading shared libraries: libreadline.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory admhost> admhost> env | grep LIB LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/pkgs/readline/5.0/lib Any trick in ghc I need to do to point this to my installation of readline 5 shared libs? I looked around in the 'ghc' shell script & even tried putting a LD_LIBRARY_PATH there, it did not seem to work either. That will install it to /usr/local. If you want to put it elsewhere use ./configure --prefix= instead.
