Hi Christian, Yes I am sure the libs are sane. I have been using them with other apps fine without issues.
But, now I have done the following to get 6.6.1 working for this issue: I have edited the ghc * ghci wrapper script and added LD_LIBRARY_PATH='/ opt/pkgs/readline/5.0/lib' (and exported LD_LIBRARY_PATH) and it seems to work now. Is that an acceptable method within ghc or would this break something else? -Imam -----Original Message----- From: Christian Maeder [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, October 17, 2008 9:58 AM To: Toufique, Imam Cc: 'Duncan Coutts'; '[email protected]' Subject: Re: need some help please -- having build issues with ghc 6.6.1 Toufique, Imam wrote: > admhost> ghc > /tmp/ghc-6.6.1_v1/lib/ghc-6.6.1/ghc-6.6.1: error while loading shared > libraries: libreadline.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or > directory > admhost> check with ldd what ghc expects: ldd /tmp/ghc-6.6.1_v1/lib/ghc-6.6.1/ghc-6.6.1 (probably libreadline.so.5 is not found) > admhost> env | grep LIB > LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/pkgs/readline/5.0/lib Are you sure you have a sane file /opt/pkgs/readline/5.0/lib/libreadline.so.5 ? (An ld script will not work) Cheers Christian _______________________________________________ Cvs-ghc mailing list [email protected] http://www.haskell.org/mailman/listinfo/cvs-ghc
