"In brief, the modem remembers the MAC address of the first device that connects to it ... waiting about 30 seconds before you turn it back on."
This may have been part of my problem yesterday, I probably didn't wait long enough. As far as the amplifier goes, I asked when I picked up the modem if it was ok to get one if we decided to hook up an additional TV (we have 2 now). They said it was ok. Three is what it is split into now. "They should be able to tweak the connection from the pole." Really? That can change things like that without coming into your house? Since my last post, the light blinked for a long time, then went out completely for a while, and now is on. I can't try it out again now though, because I am in the process registering both our cars online (just got the emissions inspections done) with my dial up. I'll try in a little while, but my husband is planning on picking up an amplifier anyway. I don't think it will hurt anything. _______________________________________________ CWE-LUG mailing list http://www.cwelug.org/ [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.firepipe.net/listinfo/cwe-lug
