Was thinking about your tape issues some more after the meeting. A couple of things to try to confirm the problem is indeed the tape drive:
- try the drive giving problems to another machine - try a different tape drive on the same machine
I'll have a look around work to see if we've got a spare tape drive and some tapes, if that would help.
