I believe is on a local lan so that is why he has a default route. Most
distros seems to set one when you are on a lan.

Does anyone know how to configure mandrake or Fedora for not having a
gateway even though there is a network card. Will the front end guis
allow such a thing?

Tim,
you may want to rerun the gui network tools for your ethernet card
(eth0) and take out the gateway setting if it will let you. What
machine is it pointing to anyway? what is 10.210.0.1?
