True. There's a reason for everything. Whether their reasoning is sound is debatable. Fortunately, there's often a technical workaround for faulty reasoning.


yes you can tunnel/proxy/vpn through other machines but it's alot easier
if you just get the admin to lighten up or set the boxen up somewhere
else before bringing them onsite.


That's a good first tier strategy. But more often than not changing anything on the router involves a whole bureaucratic process. For those cases, tunneling is a nice second tier strategy.
