Thanks for all the advice, I've got a lot to think
about now, I had assumed that the linux/osx
compatibilty would be greater.

Given the problems I've had with reiser, what linux
filesystem should I go with on the hard drive? Ext3?
Since it is a backup drive, being like eliot ness
would be nice.
