I may just have to reinstall Firefox. Between the last update for Firefox
(yesterday) and last time I rebooted (today), everything worked just fine.
Maybe I just need to uninstall Firefox and reinstall it? Now, I have
rebooted about 5 times, each time making just a change or two and reverting
the changes upon reboot. I have noticed that occasionally Ubuntu fails to
load certain processes on reboot (e.g., dropbox or Compiz Fusion Icon)
