Nope .... what is friggin' AWFUL is that Evolution doesn't mention it, Ubuntu doesn't mention it, and if they can't be arsed to fix it, how damn hard is it to write a cron job that runs, oh, even once-daily, and pops up a warning if any of your mailbox files exceeds 1.5GB in size?
And more friggin' awful (so long as I'm ranting), why the FREAK doesn't Evolution happen to mention, oh, like ANYWHERE, that deleting messages doesn't delete them ... you have to select a folder, then use the Expunge option off the Folder menu item. And, it's not recursive, so you have to manually expunge each folder, even if you have multiple sub-folders inside a main one. Last I read, this (2GB limit) was a bug only in the i386 version, not the AMD64 one -- can't confirm that, though. I can verify that the bug still exists in Evolution 2.26.1 under Ubuntu 9.04 ... Oh, and nowhere did he get a single error message. The Inbox was suddenly empty, and Send/Receive only performed half the operation (send). How's that for a fun thing to troubleshoot? So Robert, if you're reading this thread, and if you're bored, how *would* one go about writing a simple cron script to run once-daily, to check the file size of every file in ~/.evolution/mail/local/ and give the user a warning if any file is larger than 1.5GB?
