Nice to see the two ladies winning a gold and a bronze
in the modern pentathlon at the big "O". The BBC said
they were "surprise" medals - they didn't point out that
it was a surprise because one of the disciplines had
been choked to death by the country that these two stars
represented, though.
And as for the news coverage they got? What - with two
medals? Quick, where's Kate Hoey? Better not show them
competing half as much as all those peculiar synchronised
swimming/diving oddities that we did so well in.....
Might it have been something to do with that nasty slow
one handed activity that they'd been indulging in?

We don't like or want your sport, but we do like those
medals that make us look good - so run along quietly
and don't make a fuss....
