I suppose the same analogy is when the enemy captures a gun and shoots

but it don't mean that you arm our guys with pointy sticks(still legal,

I don't think that is a very good analogy to be honest, if the other
side knows where all your troops are you are in much worse trouble
than if you lose a rifle.
