I suspect Land Warrior is equipped with remote disbling
tools that would allow commanders to lock out or disable
units believed to have falen into enemy hands (or even
act as a beacon for incoming missiles/bombs once that
had been confirmed).

I assume it would have something like there is in power
boats, if the unit is pulled away from the body it has
a "kill" switch, however the enemy would rapidly become
wise to that and it wouldn't be difficult to keep it
wired up while removing it. I'm sure if it is ever
deployed it will become priority #1 for the enemy
force to try and capture one.
