Many thanks for the most informative posting, and as you say returning to
the initial posting.....
HISTORY
This started when the PCouncil had a letter about a group of shooters,
injuring a pheasant near a public footpath (on which the complainant plus 12
year old were on) and then a shooter walking over to them, and wringing the
neck of said bird. As the letter didn't hit the PCouncil until over 2
months after the close of the pheasant shooting season, person was either
not unduly concerned, or needed time to get a story put together. As there
was another "concerned" letter to a woodland trust firm on the theme of
shooting I believe this is a effort to attack game shooting by possibly a
individual (could not get name of letter writer from them either).
COMMENT
I was by chance at the PCouncil meeting, and I asked as to who the letter
writer was. I was told this was confidential, can not tell me. No clue
offered as to if person even from our Parish. The PC then agreed their plan
was to contact the Borough / County Footpaths Officer for his advice.
Nothing heard from this since (approx 6 months) and the shoots, "shooting
season" just started last Saturday. Will be interesting to see what creeps
out of the woodwork during next couple of months shooting.
The PCouncil posts notices of next meeting with an outline agenda. Is held
in village hall and public can sit in on meeting. Commenting is only "iffy"
part, OK sometimes during meeting, but, has following comments to them,
offered a 10 minute "open" talk time for village comment at start of
meeting. Good, except that the detail of what the PCouncil are going to
actually talk about in detail, doesn't come out until the meeting in
progress!!
Think key part is the claim of "confidential" element of letters sent to the
PCouncil.
Any way I can get to see that??
