Your message "NOT to vote for the Tories"

Who is left to vote for??

Labour? those to thank for pistol gut-reaction and legions of
controls on shooting, and the coming country sports controls
/ elimination???

Liberal? well that will be a wasted vote as they never be
in control and by "definition" are they not full of "least
resistance souls"?

Guess we vote for no-one? or are the shooting / country
sports bodies going to put up candidates? or you ??

What needs to be done is to vote by candidate, not by
party, talk to each candidate and find out where they stand,
and if they all stink, run yourself if that's a possibility!

Anne Widdecombe comes out with so much c--p frankly that
I tremble to think what would happen if she ever became
Home Secretary. Apart from piloting the handgun ban
through Parliament and coming out with idiotic comments
like the one about us criticising the police (a true
classic), she apparently thinks that laws guaranteeing
our fundamental civil rights are "silly".

Of course the courts are going to be clogged full of
cases under the Human Rights Act with people challenging
various laws as illegal, and I say, ABOUT TIME!!!

This is what the Government and tories get for passing
endless reams of complete and utter unmitigated nonsense
into statute.

I just wish I could have seen the look on Charles Clarke's
face when the Crown Court in Birmingham handed down the
judgement that speed camera offences violate the right
to remain silent.

The absolute classic statement was some local public
safety Nazi on the news moaning about how the Government
must do something to get around this judgement. Short
of repealing the Human Rights Act, they can't! Finally
we have an actual judicial branch of Government with
some balls.

The only thing bad about it is that the Human Rights Act
is written in mealy mouthed terms, a court judgement
does not have to be taken as binding, unlike a
constitutional judgement in the US for example.

I just cannot wait until PACE and the various terrorism
laws come up for judicial review, not to mention various
provisions of the Firearms Acts.

Steve.
