Having said that, about swerving, it may not be sentimentality that makes
one swerve to avoid an animal, or bird. I have witnessed the damage done to
a coach windscreen by a pheasant and have had a headlamp knocked from its
mountings by an impact with a pigeon. But, despite the saying that "small
ones are more juicy" I always try to avoid hedgehogs.

I've had a bird hit the windscreen, in the middle of
a tropical storm too, nearly caused a very nasty accident.

I remember in 1989 when the wall came down and all the
Russian tanks were being shipped out of Czechoslovakia.

An Italian porno star who was also an MP let free a dove
which promptly flew under a T-72 and was squashed flat.

That's roadkill!
