Does this mean we can all claim interest for the unreasonable time we were
kept waiting for our money or just those who still haven't been paid ?
Personally I think that we all deserve to be paid interest due to the time
delay, paid or not, and let's be honest, with the average claim being three
grand and the average wait being well over twelve months the lost interest
amounts to at least two hundred and forty pounds (at the Court approved rate
of 8%) for each claimant ... well worth the Court Fee <G>
In any case it would add a further thirteen and a half million pounds to the
bill and provide a further disincentive for the Government to try it again -
not to mention the administrative nightmare of dealing with the whole
problem.
By the way, the Court forms have changed and the ones on the website are
wrong.
