Hi Steve,
Many of you are probably aware that Nottingham has been a bit of a hot spot
for shootings recently. I think I am right in saying that there have been
eleven incidents since christmas.

In the new year Nottingham Constabulary claimed that the shootings were not
drug related. A month ago they admit the city might have a bit of a drug
problem.

Then the best of all. Local radio reported this morning that Police believe
their hard line on drugs in the city is working and therefore causing rival
gangs to fight for territory. Apparently this is why we have had so many
shootings and this means the Polices policies are working.

The way the news report came over; it made it sound like they were proud of
it. "Hard on drugs means more shootings, but atleast the policy is working".

Perhaps they should try a bit harder to stop the trade in black market
firearms. You know, the ones with absolutely no link whatsoever with gun
clubs or gun enthusiasts.
