Well, at long last, the police have found someone to fit
the none-existant details of the Dando case. It seems ideal too,
as he only lives 900 yards away, so his alibi will be hard to
make solid, especially a year and a bit later, his mobile phone
will, of course, prove he was in the area, because he lives there,
he is an obsessed fan (Shame he isn't a fan of Dando) but he is a
bit weird, according to the Star and the Sun etc. who quoted someone
as saying "He seems a bit strange, he walks around and talks to
people". Boy, am I glad I have no friends! The Telegraph says the
police may link him to the murder if he is an obsessed fan, or if
he has an interest in guns. So thats every school boy a suspect! After
8000 "Helping police with their inquiries" I think this poor sod was
selected as an easy target, and they can close the case. The papers all
seem to think he did it, yet from the way the tabloids edited the
interviews, they leave out any dissenting opinion, and you would think
he had just been sent down for life!!
I for one think that the budget was getting too low, and the police were
under too much pressure. Find some poor bugger and see if we can make it
stick. I will need some convincing that they have got the right man (or
woman). Remember the Guilford Four, the Birmingham Six, and the hundreds
of other high profile cases where the court of public opinion has convicted.

I don't think the police are to blame here, after all, he certainly seems
an obvious suspect and he hasn't been charged yet. This is simply an
example of media overkill.
Steve.
