Northumbria Police licencing team are a bunch of toss**s. The
Civillian Firearms liason officer is a turncoat Pistol shooter
who wouldn't know a rifle or Shotgun if it hit him on the bonce.
The bloke who interviewed me at my renewal recently said
that because I had written letters to the Home Office querying
the legal status of Gatling guns, my "suitability to possess
Firearms was called into question". He also told me
something regarding the calibre limits on a local MOD range
that turned out to be totally bogus, along with a story about a
certain shooting org (with the initials SRA) which involved
probable prosecutions for Firearms and other offences the like
of which would make us all ashamed be be shooters. Nothing
happened there yet so more crap I suspect.
I have written to the Home Office, my MP and the CC in the
past with complaints about the Firearms Licencing sections
gross incompetance and crap security such as, phoning me
at Work and saying "Hello it's Northumbria Police Firearms
licencing Department here, can I speak to Mr Laws please?"
Do they know who they are speaking to? Not unless they read
minds! I was also told a complete lie once. They said, and I
have it in writing somewhere, that FAC's are sent out with no
identifying marks on the envelope. They bloody well were at
the time because the certificate number used to be printed on
the sticky address label they used. Of course they've cured
that problem now, no number but you can see the certificate
through the little plastic window. It really does make one
wonder.
I could go on but it's getting late. If anyone want's another rant
about Northumbria Police let me know and I'll post more.
