Mr Steed is ".determined to press ahead with his claim to seek fair and just treatment from the Government on behalf of former handgun owners" Mr Steed's case is an inspiration to us all and proves that in order to obtain justice you have to be extremely determined. European Cases - Progress Report Managers and Processors of Claims in the European Court of Human Rights Managers and Processors of Claims compensation claim in the ECHR under article 1, protocol 1, has met with some encouraging success - with a limited number of claims for their trade clients. It is expected that the decisions regarding the MPC case will have a generally neutral impact on the Justice For Shooters case (below) because the JFS case is significantly different to that of MPC's. Justice For Shooters in the European Court of Human Rights The JFS submission is still being reviewed by the ECHR. When a decision has been reached, the admissible elements of the case will be taken to the next stage of the process and momentum will accelerate significantly. The slow development of the case is frustrating for all those concerned, but it does provide JFS with a continued opportunity to consolidate their resources to ensure they are able to pursue the challenge vigorously when the time comes. The next Justice For Shooters AGM will be delayed until concrete news is received. Justice For Shooters in the European Court of Justice Justice For Shooters have, until now, left the legal challenge under the Treaty of Rome to the NPA Fighting Fund. Unfortunately, it has come to the attention of JFS that this challenge mounted by the NPA FF failed in November 1999. Justice For Shooters are very disappointed that this legal remedy under the Treaty of Rome has not been fully prosecuted. After careful consultation with their legal team in early May 2000, the JFS are pleased to announce that they will shortly commence their own legal proceedings under the Treaty of Rome. The JFS approach will employ different tactics, which, in due course, should result in their case being heard in front of the European Court of Justice. How can you help? Justice For Shooters now represent the only chance of a legal remedy in Europe to redress the injustice inflicted upon individual sports shooters by the UK Government.
