Ayuh!
Not unlike the USN at all.
I see that our respective services have their respective
similarities after all!
When I was still serving, Sailors were not issued much more
than a nightstick, except when stationed onboard smaller ships like
destroyers and such. The Marines got to pack the artillery that counted!

When I visited the USS Enterprise there was a bored USN guy on the
ramp idly flicking the safety on his M4 carbine on and off, I walked
past him as rapidly as possible!
