You told me, but I have already forgotten. Thanks for your kindness. Maybe I should move to Wilson. People around Raleigh are nice, but you are very nice. What you didn't know about my ride was that my wife and I were at the back of the pack at the start, and within the first mile or so my water bottle was bounced out of its holder by a pothole, which I should have avoided :) Seeing how this bottle contained over 1/2 of my nutrition for the ride (someone called it chocolate milk), I had to stop, walk back, pick up the bottle and the cap that broke off and get back in the ride. Needless to say, by that time I was number 60 in a 60-person ride. I rode fairly hard to try to catch up a little. At the first rest stop, I was so focused on getting water and getting back on the road that I failed to see any of the Whirligigs there, believe it or not. Pretty soon after I started from the first rest stop, the COW pack caught me, thank you Lord. I then so much more so enjoyed the balance of the ride. I will plan on riding the Firecracker Ride with you. Please let me know where you plan to meet before the ride. By the way, there is a ride in Severn, NC in the spring and fall of each year called the Tommy Tour (Tour de Tom), named after the host Tommy Britt. I help organize the longer ride, about 65 miles or so. After the ride, a country, home-cooked dinner is served and for those staying later, there is a local bluegrass music group that plays as well as some great story-telling from a local resident. I'll pass along the dates for 2009. Thanks again!
