Thanks for that link Ken. Very interesting and it led me to stumble on this link: http://www.speedplay.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.chooselong Probably more info than i need as a beginner but interesting nonetheless. This speedplay website has a lot of great info. Have not seen a speedplay system that is dual however.
I have the trek fx7.3 and I have narrowed down the clipless system to the shimano pd-m324 for the dual purpose. I have not reached hard core status yet, evidently. Thanks for all the help! http://bike.shimano.com/publish/content/global_cycle/en/us/index/products/pedals/mountain/product.-code-PD-M324.-type-pd_mountain.html On Feb 25, 10:27 am, Ken Langley <[email protected]> wrote: > stumbled on this, thought it might be useful. > > so once you have the bike, you'll probably need this link to set them up. > > http://hincapiecycling.blogspot.com/2009/02/tool-box-how-to-install-s... > > > > > Date: Mon, 23 Feb 2009 08:44:53 -0800 > > Subject: [COWs] Re: toe clips--clipless??----wondering newby > > From: [email protected] > > To: [email protected] > > > Thanks for the help. > > > My understanding is you have to buy: > > > *clipless petals > > *cleats > > *shoes > > > Trying to decipher the brands(look, speedplay) and types(road vs mtb) I > > kinda am looking at the > > roadtype-speedplay zeros.
