Almond butter and an apple puts a whole new spin on tailgating.

Same here. Thank you all for coming. It was nice finally meeting Bert and
Brian whom I've read a
lot about through these emails.

And a sincere thanks to Tim for sending me on my last loop with hills and a
strong head wind for my
last two miles that "near 'bout" brought me to my knees! After, I drove home
and had 15 min.s to
get ready to go to the NCSU game. That Suburban never felt so small during the
ride to Raleigh. I
ate almond butter and an apple on the way there. Ughhh, tough night.

Thanks to the guys on the first loop for keeping it sane. I could not have
held that lap 2 pace
for 100 miles. Great ride, I enjoyed all the company!

the 1st loop avg of 17.8 ----was
thanks to me....Tim suggested
I needed Nick to draft me.
however a very enjoyable ride!
if we could just ride downwind
and downhill 100% of the
time ---I think I could keep up.
maybe one day.

The first loop was like 17mph into the wind and 19/20 with the wind. We
averaged around 17.8mph.

The second loop was like 18/19mph into the wind and 22/23 with. We
moved the 17.8 average up to around 19 thanks to Chris and KP.

What was the pacing like with wind as strong as it was?

6 riders showed up for Thursday's
first 50 mile loop. Kinnie, John, Brian, Chris, Surf Dude and I headed
out into a stiff breeze around 8:25 this morning. The wind was
relentless. Nice comfortable pace for the first loop and everyone
seemed
to have a good time. A couple of category 4 climbs on the home stretch
convinced a couple riders that one loop was enough. Chris, Kinnie and I
continued on for loop number 2. Second loop was a little more
brisk. Chris had a couple of monster pulls on the second loop as if the
wind didn't matter. KP and Chris pulled me home as my legs seized up
at mile 96. Congrats to Chris on his first century ride.
  He
finished very strong. KP wanted more so she and I headed out on the 20
mile recovery loop but I bailed 4 miles into the ride and left KP to
finish up
on her on. I'm sure she is gonna complain about my recovery route
having a couple of minor hills. I can't wait to dive into the
fridge when I get home!
