:). Sorry about the bad foot strike pattern. More good karma; note to self,
"too much mileage on shows, time to buy new.". Thnx Jim! Great day to be on
a bike. Kp

Kinnie, Tim, John O meet in Nashville for a 2 hour tempo ride.
While getting ready it occurs to me, my shoes are in Wilson, bad karma. A
spin around the parking lot and I realize I can pull a Doc and ride in
Merrill clogs. Kinnie takes pity on me, although I think she is thinking
this is going to finally be a NS ride, so she offers me her running
shoes. Fortunately we wear the same size and I now have shoes with a
back that will stay on my feet. However due to Kinnie's foot strike
pattern I battle all day to keep the right foot on the pedal, Kinnie
riding behind me says it looks like my foot is falling off the pedal all
the time. Lucas says not to worry we will take it easy just spin up the
hills. Off we go and I immediately recognize the red cross ride route,
the hills begin in Nashville, again Lucas says not to worry we will take
rt turn and all will be flat. As I take my turn at the front I hear
Lucas and Kinnie discussing the route, something about cow Rd and Jim's
thighs will be burning. Sure enough cow Rd starts with about 2 miles of
winding, down hill, and what goes down must go back up. Yep about 2
miles of climb, fortunately the grade is a gentle2/3% and rather
enjoyable. Then it is back to the red cross rt, so much for the flats,
and we finish with the up hill approach into Nashville.
A whole new approach to training, riding with no clips, you realize just
how important the up stroke is, especially climbing and sprinting.
37 miles, 18 avg, not bad for riding shoeless.
A Great day to be on the bike.
Jim
