If YOU had read my post _thoroughly_, you would have known that I did follow the instructions on cygwinports.org. That's what I meant with hackery (running setup.exe with the -X option, running an sed script which hacks some setup file(s), etc) *If* you want to make me follow "directions", you need to be more specific. This site is big enough. I can only hope that Cygwin-Ports will someday be integrated into normal cygwin. For I really do not like it if Cygwin (orig.) setup insists a zillion times on installing old GTK+ because it thinks it's "latest", breaking everything else. (And wasting a lot of my precious time for nothing) Maybe I could do a test case with real screenshots which documents the problem I had during use with setup and cygwin-ports.
