Regarding the number of Jews killed. Every official authority including Russian sources estimate the number of dead between 4-8 million. There's a lot of variance because of HOW it's decided whether the deaths were related to Nazi government action or not. It will NEVER be totally settled, so most just uses the 6 million number. As a more recent example there's dispute over the number of Iraqis killed by the US for similar reasons. International law holds that the invader is responsible for securing the invaded space and is responsible for all deaths including civilian on civilian murder etc. The US, ofc, doesn't buy that, or that they're responsible for the mass fratricide they cause arming ethnic groups against each other for it's own purposes. So the numbers will vary. As a Jew, what I don't want to see are Jews denying there were/are holocausts happening just as tragic every moment we're alive and for some reason the Nazi holocaust was somehow worse than, lets say, what the US did, is doing, to the indigenous people.
