There is at least one other section in there that is described by ticket #211 and this page: http://wiki.cython.org/enhancements/parallel It's about parallel execution support. Making arrays a first-class type in Cython is one way of doing that. To me, that totally sounds like a very interesting (and not so small) project in its own right.
