Based on all of your expert recommendations I have landed on PostGreSQL.
What am I missing? ;^) It was easy to install. It started up right away
as a service on Windows. It has what I can only describe as a "pretty"
administrative tool (pgAdmin III) which works not only intuitively, but
great. Admittedly, I have experience with MS SQL Server; but I find the
ease of use almost overwhelming.

All of my serious MS SQL Server work is where corporate DBA's have
established the databases and tables. If it's set up, I have no problem.

I have tried using MS SQL Server on my own systems and gave up. I even have
Enterprise Manager. It has been a constant battle and I will only connect
to someone else's MS SQL Server because I can't figure it out.

The PostGreSQL help file and documentation is complete and accurate, too.

Let me change my "What am I missing" to "What have I been missing out on".

...and by the way, Python is kind of the same way. It is easy to learn and
just works.

Thank you for your input.

Jeff
