Ah, thanks. I'm new to Dabo, so I didn't know if it required working
with a "matched set" with the exact same version numbers. From now on,
I'll just watch for the Dabo and IDE files to both be updated before I
change my setup. I'll just keep on using Dabo 0.7.2 until the updated
IDE version is available.
To avoid confusion on the part of people like me, it would be good to
put a note on your Dabo news and/or downloads pages. I guess people
that know the details of how the IDE package works would probably know
this, but I'm not at that level. I'm attempting to learn Dabo by
starting with the GUI generating tools, and only learning as much of the
framework as necessary to support generating application GUIs.
I think mainly a note on the download page is the most important. When
I looked here:
http://dabodev.com/download
and saw this:
# Windows Zips:
* dabo-0.8-win.zip
* dabodemo-0.7.2-win.zip
* daboide-0.7.1-win.zip
it led me to believe that I could use those versions of Dabo and Dabo
IDE together. I also checked the change log for V0.8, and didn't see
any mention of which IDE version it worked with. Also, the fact that
the Demo and IDE versions didn't match before anyway made me think maybe
the exact version numbers didn't matter.
Just a humble suggestion, but maybe only listing things together that
work together would be best? For example, if the download page listed
two sets of Windows Zips like this:
# Windows Zips:
* dabo-0.7.2-win.zip
* dabodemo-0.7.2-win.zip
* daboide-0.7.1-win.zip
# New Windows Zips:
* dabo-0.8-win.zip
Note: Can be used alone, or with daboide-0.8 to be released soon.
Or, something like that.
Thanks for the help,
Bill
