No, it doesn't. I only snipped what wasn't relevant to the problem at hand. And in case it helps you understand my situation, another feature of the `categories` table is that the `name` field is unique, so the ratio of indexes to names in that table is 1:1. This was on purpose so that joining wouldn't result in not being able to map back to the fk value.
