Even doing self.AlternateRowColor = False in that section does not make the code do what it should.

Maybe I should just start from scratch and learn the Class Designer and all so I have a better understanding and outcome controlling things? I have to say though that the AppWizard is great and gives a nice setup to start with. The AppWizard-generated form does a lot of its "magic" in the datanav subframework; that's where the grid is actually created, which means you really can't change the instantiation code, which is what I gave in my example.
