That was my main intention to get a jump start and grow it from there but with 
some of my issues I am seeing it doesn't make sense to use it, at least for me.

You shouldn't feel limited or forced. You can take the generated code and use 
it for
a while, and augment it and even replace it with non-datanav elements as you 
wish.

It is a jumpstart. I'm still actively developing the application I started with
AppWizard in 2007. I ran AppWizard once, and since then the application has 
grown by
quite a bit, with some very complex forms, data mappings, and reports. I 
haven't been
limited at all by AppWizard or datanav, unless I'm missing something.
