I agree about the 90% on the UI. However, we've already done it and have the
battle
scars. Working alone full-time on it, I think I could wrap Qt for Dabo within
about 6
months (working with Ed, the result would be much better but because of the
extra
coordination time it would probably still take 6 months). I'm committed to
current
contracts through the rest of the year, but somebody line me up some funding
for 2014
and it could happen.
Note that I'm talking about the core UI controls, not about all the third-party
things we've wrapped like dFoldPanelBar and stuff like that. Those would need
to be
added as desired after core delivery, probably by members of the community.
A huge part of this work would also entail properly abstracting common UI code -
currently there's a ton of code in the wx layer that really belongs in the
generic ui
layer.
