Incidentally, although the Phoenix project may provide Python 3
support of a sort, I have to say I'm still somewhat skeptical.
Of a sort?
Everything I can find about it still has the aura of "some things don't
work yet, but they will eventually". It's probably worth trying with
the snapshots to get a head-start in case it does come out. But to my
mind there is all the difference in the world between "download a dev
snapshot and manually copy the files into your wx install directory" and
"an official release on the front page of wxpython.org". In particular,
if I was trying to get an end-user to install a Dabo app, I would feel
fine telling them "go to wxPython.org, download version X, and click
Install"; I would not be comfortable telling them to engage in rigmarole
with dev snapshots. So from my perspective Phoenix won't be really
ready until you can install it by "conventional methods" and know that
it will work.
Absolutely, Phoenix is not ready for the developer who just want to
install it and expects everything to work.
But it is more then ready for any developer who would like to get
his/her hands dirty and help an open source project to get to the point
of being ready.
