Actually, why not? Shouldn't the user be able to decide if and when they want
to show
them? Shouldn't the user also be able to undock them (and put them on a separate
monitor, for instance), too?
If I had to guess, and that's all I have time for today, it would be
that something in the underlying aui library changed. I remember creating that
class, getting it to work, and then having it break on the next version of
wxPython because Andrea changed something in the class.
Andrea improves the aui class a lot, I am even to blame for some of the
enhancements/changes he did:-) , but I find him always very response if
one reports things to him and would expect him to change things if he
broke backwards compatibility if at all possible.
I'll try to narrow it down some more, after I made the other changes to
the RD.
