Fed leaves interest rates unchanged
The Federal Reserve Tuesday left short-term interest rates unchanged at their lowest 
levels in 45 years, as expected, as slow job growth offset mounting evidence the 
economy is gaining momentum.

Sony plans to cut 20,000 jobs
Sony Corp. is trimming 20,000 jobs, or about 13 percent of its global work force, in 
the next three years as part of a turnaround strategy announced Tuesday to better
