A Reflection on Today's Scripture:
What a wonderful sense of order God has!
There is a certain tidiness to the story of creation -- clear
evidence of a careful plan in the mind of the Creator. With what
great detail He thought of fish, birds, beasts, and, of course,
humankind! The completed picture truly leaves us overwhelmed. The
only response is to get down on our knees and praise His loving
power. And to think that He entrusted so much of creation to our
care! We are must show responsible respect for it all. And how
foolish for us to become distracted with human traditions, even of
the pious variety! Certainly one ought never to let them cause
division or hatred. If we focus on the whole picture, we will keep
the laws of worship in proper perspective. And above all, to observe
and obey with love for both Creator and creatures.
