A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

A Shepherd's Heart

This parable in St. Luke's Gospel looks right at one of the most
important missions of Christ, seeking out the lost. Some on the most
prophetic words come from meek and humblest of people. These people
usually have a great sense of compassion for others just as Christ
did.

Sometimes in our lives we may be lost and running on our own will,
searching in our own mind and trying to find where we belong just as
the lost son did. It is times like these that we must trust in God.

Jesus often said that He is our shepherd. A shepherd always looks out
for the whole flock not just part of it. He will lay his life down
for the safety sake of his sheep. Jesus is the good shepherd, looking
out for each of us leading us to a safe place of peace and joy.
Jesus, guide our families and us into the future, to be stronger, to
implant the eternal vision into our hearts and minds.
