A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

Today, we have a beautiful responsorial psalm: "The Lord is near to
broken hearts." We are told that the Lord rescues the just from all
their distress and delivers them from all their troubles and that
anyone who takes refuge in Him incurs no guilt.

How wonderful to consider these bold words! In a world where we are
called to mask our brokenness through the pursuit of things that do
not last, what a wonderful invitation Jesus extends to us by offering
himself as the timeless refuge to those who approach him.

During Lent, Jesus calls us to reconcile ourselves with Him. In the
Sacrament of Reconciliation Jesus wipes away our sins and cleans our
slate so that we may become whole again in Christ.

     O Jesus,
Grant us the grace and humility
to recognize our digressions and come to you in truth
so that we might begin again on our path to salvation.
               Amen.
