A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

Today we enter a great journey with the women to the tomb of Christ.

One can only wonder just what it would have been like to experience
the last few days and all the events that have taken place. There was
so much to take in, it had to be overwhelming. The angelic messengers
that the women met at the tomb sometimes get overlooked; but they
also hold an important message for us to ponder. We too can meet one
of God's messengers at any time and can miss it if we don't have our
heart and mind open to the Lord.

As Lent has now ended today, Holy Saturday, we wait in anticipation
of our own resurrection. Let us meditate on where we were and rejoice
in the fact that we're going to rise with Jesus himself. Let us
prepare to rejoice in Jesus' Resurrection from death to life, as
surely we will also do some day. Tonight at the Easter Vigil Mass we
will travel from darkness to light, from death to new life with Jesus
our Savior.
