A Reflection on Today's Scripture:
With the sound of the nails still reverberating in my mind and
through every part of me, I hear "Peace to you!"(Luke 24:36). I think
to myself: "Was all of it a dream? Did it really happen?"
"Look at my hands and my feet; it is really I. Touch me and see that
a ghost does not have flesh and bones as I do." (24:38-39) My Lord,
my God, my Savior is really here! He has risen as He said.
The above few lines could have been our story had we been there with
the disciples. We, God's people of today, remember all that He has
done for us. We relive the suffering, the pain he endured and His
death on the cross. But that was not the end. Easter morning came to
find the empty tomb. His promise fulfilled!
Our God is one who keeps His promises, He tells us He will be with us
always until the end of time. He goes on to say that our names are
carved in His precious hands; He holds us by the hand and will help
us carry our crosses.
We are an Easter people. Alleluia!
We have the promise of eternal life. Alleluia!
Praise to our Risen Lord for all that He has done for us.
And.... the best is yet to come.
Amen! Alleluia!
