A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

"A Certain Pharisee. . . Came to Jesus at Night."

Who are you in Christ? Are you Zaccheus, climbing up in a tree to see
better? Are you Peter, Andrew, John, ready to leave their nets and follow
Jesus? Are you a converted tax-collector? Or are you Nicodemus?

Nicodemus really wanted to know about Jesus, but he lacked courage. He
couldn't come to Jesus by day for fear of what others might say. He was
overly concerned about the human element in his life. But... Jesus did not
turn him away.

Jesus does not say to those of us who are concerned about human opinion:
"Stay away, don't approach." Instead He says, "Be born again from above."
When this happens, human opinion becomes much less important than God's
opinion.

As part of our joyous Easter Reflection, I recommend to all a wonderful
little book for children by Max Lucado called, "You Are Special." Read it
yourself, share it with your children and grandchildren. In this simple
story we encounter once again the loving lesson given us in the story of
Nicodemus: God loves us -- and that's all that really matters here, now, and
in the life to come.
