A Reflection on Today's Scripture:
If we stop for a moment today and look around we will see we cannot
stop time, that the things around us keep moving. The sun rises, the
wind blows, everything in nature is moving and has a purpose. In
today's scriptures there is constructive criticism given for a
purpose; and taken very well, was used for growth. The psalmist
speaks of God as king over all the earth. This king is so in love
with what He created that He sent his only Son to save it.
In St. John's Gospel, Jesus the Son, says we should ask the Father
when we're in need and it will be given to us. Yes, we've been given
more than we can see. Praying in thanksgiving and recognizing what
God has given us makes our joy complete.
To weave these blessings from God into our lives everyday, we become
a people with purpose and mission -- to love one another, to serve
each other in good times and in bad. Life should never be taken for
granted. We should not worry about the past or be anxious about the
future, for this we can do nothing about. It is the present moment
that we find Jesus and our joy is in the journey of each step we
take.
