A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

This is how you are to pray: "Our Father....

Just imagine that the Creator of the universe allows us to call on
Him as our father! It is difficult to even go beyond these two words.
But, as we continue with the prayer of Jesus, we find it
all-encompassing. We pray for God's kingdom to be established in
every human heart. And we pray for God's will to be done in our
lives. We ask for our daily bread; that is, the holy bread of
frequent Holy Communion. We ask to be forgiven our sins, just as we
forgive others. We ask for the Father's protection from evil that
lurks around every corner.

God the Father should be such an intimate part of our lives that we
call Him Daddy! Abba or daddy is an intimate way in relating to God
in a totally new way -- as His loving and beloved children. I truly
believe I am God's child, because of the Precious Blood of Jesus
being shed for me, and the Holy Spirit dwelling within my soul. I
share in the very holiness of Jesus, and say with Him: Abba. It is
only when our hearts pray in this way that we can bless His name and
long for the coming of His kingdom. The one who provides everything
for you, waits for your loving embrace!

     Abba, Daddy-Father,
allow the words of Jesus' prayer
          to penetrate our heart
and to fill us with the glory of God. Amen.
