A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

Consider the great faith of Joachim and Ann. Very advanced in years,
Ann gave birth to Mary who was conceived without sin to be the
perfect host for Jesus, the Messiah, our redeemer Christ.

In my journey through life I've spoken with people who clearly
believe in the Gospel of Christ. Similarly I've spoken with others
who just don't seem to have any faith or belief at all. It is beyond
our comprehension to know why some people have accepted the message
of Christ and why others have not accepted it. However, each of us
who thinks he is a believer, has a duty to act and speak responsibly
before those who claim to be unbelievers. If we believe and have
faith, then we must show faith to be evident within us at all times.

Jesus explained that He spoke in parables so that those who are weak
in faith might understand the message of salvation -- the Good News.
We, the believers, are called to feed the hungry, to care for the
sick, the homeless, to encourage those with little or no faith. We
proclaim the good news of salvation when we show our love, God's
love, to the least and the most outcast among us. Today, let us wake
up and be alert to an opportunity to be kind and loving to just one
person. Let us not seek consolation for ourselves; but rather, let us
seek to humbly walk in the shoes of the Christ, Our Lord.

          Open my eyes O God,
               that I may consider
the wonders of your law. (see Psalm 119:18)
