A Reflection on Today's Scripture:

Jesus wants us to forgive all those we know who "owe us" -- be it
money or a misunderstanding. We all benefited from Calvary and need
to examine our conscience and then take that step to forgive others.

Why is it so difficult to forgive others? Is it wounded pride,
stubbornness or ignorance? We have all experienced our feelings of
not being forgiven, yet we are reluctant to admit we are the same as
our accusers. Our Lord Jesus is so merciful and ready to forgive us
our transgressions, because he loves us! Our faith teaches us to love
God and love one another. We believe in the forgiveness of sin and
proclaim it every time we pray the Apostles Creed. Yet we fail to
forgive others!

The Lord said to Joshua: "Today I will begin to exult you in the
sight of all Israel, that they may know I am with you...." (Jos 3:7).
The Lord is with you today, everyday, all the time. Ask Him to send
forth His Spirit upon you now, to enable you to tell someone you know
that you forgive them or to ask for forgiveness!

          Have mercy on us, Lord.
Allow our conscience to be set free.
Help us to take the next step to forgive others.
               We love you Lord! Amen!
