A Reflection from Holy Scripture . . .
Take courage...do not fear.... (see Haggai 2:4,5)
What words of consolation are these from today's First Reading from
the prophet Haggai! This is a call to action, a call to bear
testimony to our faith in our Lord. Who understands our pain and
suffering better than the Lord? No one! He is the balm for our
wounds. He is the constant and eternal Healer. He is our Strength,
our Hope, our All. Peter turned to Jesus, as no other offered the
gift of eternal life. Today, let us put our trust in Jesus, let us
consecrate our hurt and pain, our joy and laughter to Him. As all is
from God, let us surrender everything back to Him, patient and
trusting in the mystery of His plan for us individually and
collectively as the people of God.
Mother Mary,
grant us a deeper Faith
that we may wait patiently on the Lord
and endure whatever comes our way
as a mark of our love and hope in our saviour,
your son, Jesus Christ.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
