Well, it happened again.. This time the "dumpee" is a charming, adorable,
healthy looking baby chocolate lab! (about 4months old I would guess) I can
not believe that someone would just stop the car and throw him out! ...and
that's exactly what happened. Cork was about 1/4 mile behind this car last
night on his way home from work....saw the brake lights, the overhead light
as the door opened, and then the car sped off. As he approached the spot
the car had stopped, he saw this terrified pup standing in the middle of
the road...well, he did what anybody would do!... he brought it home.

Mannie took to it right away.... showing him the ropes...giving "grampa"
gruffs and growls when the pup got out of hand (He is soooooo
playful.) but generally pretty accepting... Thor, on the other hand,
seems terrified of it! I can not figure this out! If the pup is anywhere
around Thor refuses to go out. I have to go out with him, coaxing him all
the way.

Once outside, Thor is like a skittish colt! If the puppy approaches him,
he backs away...WAY back!... and if the puppy tries to play, Thor acts runs
from it, tail tucked. I thought maybe because Thor is blind in one eye,
that his perception of the awkward movements of the pup scare him.. I even
sat down on the ground and rubbed the puppys belly, called Thor over so he
could smell it up and down. Well, Thor did..but it didn't seem calm Thor
much.

Does anybody else have any ideas? We thought about keeping the pup, but
if Thor is gonna be scared of it, then we will find the pup a home. He's
precious, and I should be able to find him a GOOD home with little
problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

.......and so it goes

Mannie (awww.. he's just a little cute guy)
Thor ( I don't want a new pup!... I don't care what Mannie says!)
